Our Team

The Sense of Power Pilates difference

Our passionate team of Instructors all have a Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction as a minimum qualification, which means they have at least 560 hours of training under the supervision of a Senior Instructor. All of our Instructors also complete regular Continuing Education in order to maintain their industry memberships.

As we are an Instructor Training Studio and Work Placement Studio for the Pilates International Training Centre, we also often have the additional benefit of Students observing and assisting in your classes under the supervision of our experienced team.

Understanding the training levels of your Pilates Instructor

Pilates In A Gym Setting

These classes are usually taught by Fitness Instructors who may have undertaken some additional training in Matwork-based Pilates.

These types of classes are pre-choreographed and demonstrated to the group. There is limited individual interaction or modifications to suit personal needs.

Group Reformer Classes

Reformer Instructors will have completed online training and a 4-5 day practical course, at minimum.

These types of classes are predominantly in large groups, exclusively use the reformer, and are pre-choreographed. There will be some modifications to suit individual needs and ability.

Pilates Studio like
Sense of Power Pilates

Studio-based Pilates Sessions will be taught by Diploma-qualified Instructors who have completed a minimum 560 hours of training with a Registered Training Organisation over a 12-18 month period.

Classes will be taught in small groups and always tailored to the individual.

Physio-Based Pilates

This acute, often rehabilitation-based Pilates is usually completed with a physiotherapist who has done additional training in Pilates.

A Physiotherapist will have a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree as their minimum qualification.
